Baby Steps

This may just look like another kid brushing their teeth before school - but believe me - to us THIS IS HUGE! See how she's smiling. And she went in there and did it without being prodded! Today she even made sure that Wes had brushed HIS teeth before he went to school. Also notice - Jeans! No pink - except her hair ribbon today. They are reading Helen Keller book in her class. She is reading it too - in English. She could not wait to tell us about it when she got home from school. She said "she no can hear, she no can speak." We took Wes out for his 18th birthday and she took her book with her. There is also a pic here of her washing windows. She LOVES helping around the house.

She loved the snow and thought it was awesome to have snow pants. She has never had snow pants and she thought it was cool that she could make snow angels and her butt stayed warm. Speaking of simple pleasures - here is a pic of her eating her first bite of jello - strawberry!

Our friend Jennifer is coming home TOMORROW with her baby girl ZOEY!! WOOHOO. Several of the families in the region are going home without their kids because the judge refuses to grant their adoptions (some of them have been trying to adopt their kids since OCTOBER!!) And her reasons are totally ridiculous - minor bookkeeping or paperwork issues that really should not be issues at all. The situation over there is really sad and it makes us all the more thankful that we got our girl home.
