Here are some pics of her playing around with her brothers. Also one of her playing Dance Dance Revolution. The Osbornes introduced her to it - and she loved it - then she got to play again at her cousin's birthday party. Here she is dancing with one of her cousins! We did order one - so we'll all be practicing!

Well that's the big news here - Anastasia's BEEG SEESTER will be home tonight. Rachel had talked to her about going to the zoo, so last night Anastasia said "tomorrow - Friday, my beeg seester Rachel come home, take me to zoo!" Actually they aren't going to zoo tomorrow, but sometime during Rachel's spring break. Rachel turned down going to an exotic location with her friends so that she could come home and hang out! woohoo!
Anastasia continues to adjust beautifully. When she does get mad her new thing is to say,"No, no AND no!" She wakes up laughing. Today - she was telling us it was Saturday and she didn't need to get up! And she thought that was hysterical. Our morning routines involve all kinds of stuff. Today Anastasia and Carter laid out a trail of cheerios for our dog to follow - that was exciting! At school they have finally moved away from the Kindergarten worksheets - and she is actually doing math with her class and doing stuff more on her grade level. Yesterday she told me, "I no like deez fractions!" We are very thankful for the ESL teacher in our county who has been very helpful in developing a strategy for her.
Her English is amazing. Last night she was telling me that she wants to "maybe vork in zee zoo when I gets beeger!" She has talked about more stuff in Ukraine. I asked her if she was scared coming to America, and she said, "no - I like my new family." We keep waiting for that period of mourning and sadness that folks talk about, but we really think that because it took so long for this adoption to be final, she was able to process all of that while she was still in Ukraine. She calls Grandma every weekend - at our urging - but always has great conversation and is happy when she hangs up.
Here are some new pics. We're up to three outfits that she'll wear - all pink - and several shirts. The other day she wanted to wear a skirt - and the only one we could find in our drawers was green - so she actually broke out into another color - that was HUGE. She walks into school by herself now - thinks she's quite big when she does that. And she loves to get up and make Mark's coffee in the morning. She still keeps many of her treasures in her bed - and the pile is GROWING - we went to Longhorns the other night and the napkin from the restaurant in now one of her treasures! She does feel like her things are safe here - that's the good news! - the bad news is that she is now starting to scatter her stuff around the house like the rest of us!!
Thanks for checking in! Some of you have called and asked if you can visit - SURE! Just give us a call - I've been terrible about returning phone calls. Working full time and having a "new baby" has left me with not much time!
Here's a big CONGRATS for our buddy Jennifer. Talked to her yesterday. Court went well - she is officially Zoey's mom and should be coming home at the end of the month - THREE MONTHS after she arrived in Kiev. You can see pics of her precious little girl on jensadoption.blogspot.com I put her as a link to the right!!
