Adjusting!

WITH WESLEY BEFORE SWEETHEART'S DANCE!

HANGING OUT WITH MAGGIE!!

WITH CARTER

Visiting with her cousins.

Anastasia had a great couple days at home, then began running a fever of 103+. She did this for several days - then Wesley got it. But she was a very sweet patient. We visited the International Adoption Clinic at Children's Hospital - and they were great - and they did extensive testing. We also visited our pediatrician - who also happens to be our next door neighbor - and that was a good visit also. We visited school twice. It was a bit overwhelming for Anastasia and she was anxious to get back home. We hope to work up to having her there all day by the end of next week. Friday we headed to Lexington to watch Wesley at the State Swim Meet. It was confusing to her that we were going to a swimming pool in the winter and that we were going to Lexington and wouldn't be seeing Rachel (Rachel had class, then volunteer at hospital, then she was heading home). We had a bit of a hard time getting her up and ready to go (ended up missing WEsley's first event) but after getting pretty firm with her and letting her know that she was going - whether she liked it or not - we ended up having a really good day. When I told her that she had to go to the swim meet because I could not leave her home alone - she said, "I not be alone - I stay here with Maggie!" Well, Maggie is a great dog, but I did not feel that she was a suitable babysitter for Anastasia! For the most part she is still very happy and and loves hanging out. She loves her brothers and cousins and thinks Rachel spends way too much time in Lexington. And in case you haven't noticed - she LOVES pink. She does not want to wear jeans - she just likes soft pink stuff. Hopefully she will expand her wardrobe a bit soon - but for right now we're just thrilled when she gets dressed and we figure we have enough battles - if she wants to rotate between two outfits - fine!
