As my buddy Arica says - you're one day closer to coming home - of course we don't know when we're coming home, but we've made it through another day in Kiev. As we are here longer than expected - we're running out of stuff so had to go to market today for toilet paper and other essentials - real exciting SUnday.
Have had a great day with Anastasia. She it totally cracking us up. We were playing UNO today and I was down to one card - then had to draw a bunch of cards so I was playing like I was upset and she says, "Kim - it is just a game!" Alrighty!! We've talked to the kids several times on IChat. Wesley played the UK "GO BIG BLUE" chant for her and she now has the timing down perfectly and yells GO BIG BLUE at just the right time in the song. He was going to teach her the UK fight song - but that was a little more complicated. Carter and Rachel talked to her for over an hour yesterday and sent her pictures while they were talking. One was Rachel jumping on Anatasia's bed. Another was Carter riding Anatasia's bike in the foyer of our house - so ANastasia thinks things are pretty wild and crazy at her house in Kentucky. After all those crazy pics, she was laughing and they were telling her she was crazy so she wanted me to send a pic to them - she made the sign. In case you can't read it - it says, "NO YOUR CRAZY!" She can read English really well and we're now able to have more complicated conversations with her.
We feel like we're getting back in touch with everyone with internet access and have even been able to read our local paper (and by local we mean KY NOT Kiev!) My sister Leta, even sent us pictures of Wesley's swim meet!
So that's it from here. It got all the way up to 11 F today! So no complaining about the weather at home folks!!!
PS - Okay now we're really getting high tech. Rachel and Carter just made a video and sent it to us. It shows Carter sliding down banister, Rachel dancing with Maggie - our dog, Carter riding Anastasia's bike, Rachel and Carter popping out from behind chairs, from under tables, Carter "riding" a desk chair down the hall . . . She loves it. She talks about her brothers and sisters all the time now. She thinks they're CRAZY!!
