Another Saturday in Kiev

Here's a pic of Anastasia after our busy day yesterday. She fell asleep on Mark after we got back to the apartment.

A HUGE BIG THANK YOU to my sister Leta - Wes was home sick from school yesterday and the only medicine he could find was cough medicine so he took that - even though he didn't have a cough!!! So Leta went and got him the appropriate medicine for a cold and picked up some lunch for him. Then today - she is attending the Finals of the REGIONAL SWIM MEET - to watch her nephew - Rachel is going too! THANK YOU LETA - I OWE YOU BIG TIME!!

We are loving having internet in apartment. Wes helped us get hooked up to IChat and Anastasia talked to Wesley for a couple of hours yesterday. They were on IM and chatting at same time. And yes, it is remarkable how well she can read English - keep in mind they don't even use the same alphabet or letters over here. She really loves staying the the apartment. We were going to meet 4 American friends for dinner - but she wasn't happy about that and since we're changing so much in her life right now - we let her stay in. I did go down and meet them for a little bit as they are both leaving tomorrow to visit their referrals. Knowing what a crafty chick she is they have both given her some craft supplies and she's working on one of the kits right now. Meeting up with Americans while you are over here makes a HUGE difference!

Anastasia talked to Rachel today on IChat and enjoyed that too. After Rachel had to get off to go to the swim meet - she was looking to see who else she could talk to! Anastasia also got an email from her new teacher, Mrs. Capal and that was exciting. Anastasia loves to play volleyball (we're playing it in the apartment) and Mrs. Capal plays too so she thought that was really cool.

Mark has taught Anastasia how to tie flies (for fishing!). She has made all kinds of crafts - and she is very resourceful in gathering supplies. NOTHING gets thrown away - it's all usable!!

Well, she wants me to take pictures right now of her bracelets that she just made so she can send it to Rachel - so gotta go. HEY PEGGE! - hope you are feeling better. Reagan - thanks for all of your encouraging notes. Allie - Anastasia LOVES your notes. She LAUGHED for quite a while over the note you sent in Russian.
