This is actually Wesley. My mother designated me as the temporary "Blog Updater." I am quite honored. My parents are not as stressed out as i would have imagined. just so u know u will see my punctuation and capitalization accuracy decline as this blog continues. from what i hear my parents still have a lot to do. mom has to pay some bills and dad has to pack and find some clean undergarments... carter and i are as ready as we will ever b to b w/o parents for 2 wks or more. both of us are very very excited to b spending a lot of time w/ grammie and also we will enjoy all of the other services that people offer us. i am thankful to have a mom that knows a lot of people otherwise i wood b eatin campbell's chunky soup for 2 wks. but really thank you to everyone who has offered to help and especially for all the prayers. the best comfort to have in this situation as well as every other is that god will work it out as long as we let him. well i am gonna get back to helping my parents (just a minute ago my dad made me put up 2 smoke detectors because i guess that when u leave u are going to another country and leaving ur kids back home u can never b 2 safe... or at least thats what crazy kim thought).
i think i will have to update this thing when they are gone so u wil have to get used to this generation x typing lingo.
the anxious brother,
wesley

Hi guys,
you definitely are cool to help your parents with the blog because it's not always easy to find an internet cafe. P.S. The big central post office on Krestatik, to the right of the telephone office/by Independence Square and next the fountains, has a very modern internet area. I used it twice as I just returned from Ukraine, my sister adopted my niece five years ago and we were over on vacation.
Good stress relief, the Passage Cafe on the Passage by Krestatik, expensive but good fruit tarts and coffee! Also, we loved the restaurant "O'Panas" in the middle of Taras Shevchenko Park. The park is lovely and has the cutest mini-cars and play area for kids. Besides that, the peasant style restaurant/patio is charming, with Ukrainian murals on the wall and music after 8 p.m. We went there for strawberry crepes in the a.m. (they also sell simple ones as snacks outside) and great borscht soup or shishkabob at night. Very relaxing. Most restaurants in Kiev are not inexpensive, I found few bargains except for cafeterias that natives frequent. One near TGI Fridays was recommended but don't know name. Must go to opera or ballet if back in season, even if you don't understand language it is a treat! Look for What's Happening Now magazine at hotels for English info. Best of luck!
