Happy New Year

We had a great time on New Year's Eve at our nephews wedding. It was fun seeing family and friends. Also got to chat with a couple of families who have adopted from Ukraine and their kids. We're booking our tickets tomorrow - since our other tickets had expired. Lena has been trying to call Grandmother - but has been unable to get through. All government offices in Ukraine are closed through Jan. 9 so we won't hear anything new from judge until then. Our facilitator is supposed to meet with judge after holiday to go over paperwork that will be given to us after hearing. We can't wait to get over there and see Anastasia. This waiting period has been difficult, but has certainly helped to bond us all. Many kids leave with their new parents just days after meeting them - she has had a much longer time period to adjust to the thought of moving to a new country, getting a new family . . . We're hoping this helps with her adjustment when we get home. Keep on praying - we ain't done yet!! Specifically pray that our facilitator will be proactive in keeping this moving. Pray that the judge will honor her commitment to have the hearing on the 16th. Pray that everyone who needs to be there for hearing will show up. Pray that the 10 days will be waived after court. Pray for Anastasia as she gets ready for this HUGE transition and for Grandmother as she adjusts to the move also. Our three kids here have been awesome though all of this - they are ready to get their little sister home!! We sure have enjoyed our time together over the holidays - tomorrow it's back to the real world of jobs and school (except for Rachel - she has another week of vacation!)
